$45The versatility of a Basset Hound knows no limits. On the tennis court this good-looking red-and-white is equally at home fetching balls, shagging them, and hogging them. In fact, a Basset doesn't see any difference between these activities and also enjoys tennis balls off the court.
Some of the breed like to act as line judges, sharing the court during play with the human athletes so to make the right call.
A tennis pro commissioned me to paint a portrait of Max several years ago, a Christmas surprise for his wife. I got a call last year that Max had died and despite their sorrow, his humans wanted me to know how much his portrait meant to them.
