Only a pair of Basset Hounds can slow this courier from the swift completion of his appointed rounds. Actually this isn't really true. He also stops for Georgie the Dachshund and Studley the shepherd-mix on South Fort Street and big ol' Cole on Holliday Street, just to name a few.
     Letter carriers Dave and his co-worker Chet bring daily treats with the mail and are eagerly awaited by the neighborhood's canine citizens.  They recognize the sound of the mail truck's engine blocks away and and are standing at the gate waiting impatiently when he arrives.
    These moochers are not dependent on the largesse of the Post Office, however. Fed Ex and UPS carriers also show up with tasty bribes. No delivery person ever gets a dog bite in our town.
