One unsung virtue of Basset Hounds is the KP duties they perform, an important one being the pre-wash cycle for the dishwasher. While other households consider load size, and wash and rinse options when they purchase this appliance, for Basset owners. the weight-bearing capacity of the door-hinge is the only thing that really matters.

    However, we know of no Bassets who are willing to put away the clean dishes. That's one of the things we're working on this year.
