It's hard to decide which is cuter, sweeter, or squirmier--a 3-year-old girl or a 9-week old puppy! It doesn't really matter, because they are fast friends, enjoying a warm fall day on a Virginia porch. They're both great at racing, tag, and hide-and-seek, but snuggling is their favorite activity.
The original oil painting is a portrait I painted of our granddaughter, Guinevere, daughter of our son Nathaniel and his wife Phong, and is the artist's first public exhibit of a human portrait. The puppy is/was ours too, but she now out-weighs Guinny by about 20 pounds.
