Most Basset Hounds are apoliical, which may be one reason everybody loves them. But this Basset has an attitude, and she insisted that her portrait make a political statement. What was I supposed to do?
So, here she is, imagining herself as a tourist in a Havana hotel and dreaming of the day she can travel to Cuba herself. I told her our website was not designed to address controversial issues, but she would have none of it.
When I told her recently of the change in government policy on Cuba travel, she began applying to schools to get a position as a "classroom aide," hoping to qualify for an educator's visa.
