Peace Scroll down for purchasing options
Edward Hicks, a Quaker Preacher from Pennsylvania and self-taught 19th century painter, is known for his several versions of "The Peaceable Kingdom." These paintings, drawn from Isaiah Ch. 11, illustrate the peace that Isaiah prophesied would come upon the earth with the birth of the messiah. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and fatling together; and a little child shall lead them."
Many others have since portrayed similar themes, but none have included the peace-loving Basset Hound...until now.
