The holidays wouldn't be the holidays without the enthusiastic participation of the family pets. Basset Hounds are particularly noted for their contributions to festive gatherings--from boisterously greeting the elderly family members as they try to get through the door without being knocked down, to being perpetually underfoot in the kitchen where the food is being prepared.
Sometimes their desire to be part of the celebration is carried too far. In this Thanksgiving tableau, a pair of Bassets comes upon a perfectly fine turkey the humans have apparently abandoned, as they're in another room giving thanks for a bountiful harvest. And speaking of bountiful harvests, this giant turkey certainly fills the bill. Sharing it fairly between two dogs is another matter.
