Bassets don't spend a lot of time worrying about getting a perfect tan. But they do tend to while away many a spring and summer hour in the sun, usually on their backs, often in the garden.
This flower bed, for instance, is a favorite spot for getting a nice long nap with the sun warming your belly. If the petunias suffer a little, it doesn't really matter. They'll bounce back in time for tomorrow's session--probably. If not, there's always the nasturtiums.
