About the current status of our Originals Galllery--
As you no doubt have noticed, we are currently offering only one original oil painting in our Gallery. All other paintings have been sold.
I am taking a breather from the sale of original art to work on and broaden my painting style. In fact, I am painting up a storm--but I'm entering several of my new works in dog-painting art shows and am enrolled in a painting program in Baltimore to improve the quality of my work, with an eye to more accurately portraying the physical properties of dogs and to do so in a more painterly way. The new focus also encompasses painting other breeds in addition to Basset Hounds--even long-haired dogs!
I have been told that two qualities differentiate my art from that of other dog artists--the humor and whimsey they evoke and the detailed backgrounds. I do not intend to change either of these characteristics, but rather to concentrate on improving my rendering of the animal itself. Once again, "it's all about the dog!"
